Description
SAP BW provides several interfaces for reading data using Multidimensional Expressions (MDX):
- OLAP BAPI (Business Application Programming Interface)
- OLE DB for OLAP
- XML for Analysis (xmla)
Most front-end tools that read data via MDX use OLAP BAPIs. The access using OLE DB for OLAP is less frequent and the access using XML for Analysis is very rare.
Security holes exist for XML for Analysis if the relevant security notes were not implemented.
