Description

Symptom

SAP Manufacturing Execution contains a read-only directory traversal vulnerability. An attacker can potentially read arbitrary files on the remote server, which may lead to the disclosure of confidential information.

Solution

The issue has been addressed in SAP Manufacturing Execution 6.0 SP3. This vulnerability was not present in any releases prior to version 6.0 SP3.

Reason and prerequisites

SAP Manufacturing Execution fails to properly validate the file path used to reference files read from the remote server. This flaw allows an attacker to manipulate the program to access arbitrary files within the system, thereby exposing their contents.

Affected components

  • VISIPRISEMFG: 6.0 to 6.0
