SAP security note 1486584, “Unauthorized modification in BSP application CRM_PRD_TEST_UI”, is a program error note released on 13.11.2012. Below are the symptom, SAP recommended solution and the affected software components.
Description
Symptom
A malicious user can modify displayed application content without authorization and potentially obtain authentication information from other legitimate users.
Solution
Please apply this note or import the changes via the relevant support package.
Manual Instructions for CRM 7.0 EhP1:
- Delete the BSP application CRM_PRD_TEST_UI manually in transaction SE80.
Reason and prerequisites
BSP Page/s ROOT_CONTENT.HTM, SESSION_BUFFERED_FRAME.HTM, SESSION_SINGLE_FRAME.HTM within BSP application CRM_PRD_TEST_UI do not sufficiently encode output parameters, resulting in a cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerability.
Cross-site scripting can be used to steal another user’s authentication information, such as data relating to their current session. A malicious user who gains access to this data may use it to impersonate the user and access all information with the same rights as the target user.
If an administrator is impersonated, the security of the application may be fully compromised.
Affected components
- BBPCRM 520
- BBPCRM 600
- BBPCRM 700
- BBPCRM 701
