Description
Symptom
An attacker can exploit XX-CSC-RU and use specially crafted inputs to modify database commands, resulting in the retrieval of additional information persisted by the system.
Solution
Before applying this SAP Note, please confirm that either one of the following SAP Notes is implemented:
- 1863554 J3RTAXREP – Incorrect calculation in FI/SL provider
- 1868676 J3RTAXREP – Transport files regarding XML Generator solution
Implement this correction using transaction SNOTE or apply the indicated Support Package (SP).
Reason and prerequisites
The problem is caused by an SQL injection vulnerability. The code composes an SQL statement that contains strings that can be altered by an attacker. The manipulated SQL statement can then be used to retrieve data from the database.
