SAP security note 1746074, "Unauthorized modification of stored content in EP-KM-CRS", is a note. Below are the symptom and SAP recommended solution.
Description
Symptom
EP-KM-CRS can be abused by an attacker, allowing them to modify application content, persist the modified content without authorization, and potentially obtain authentication information from other legitimate users.
Solution
For information about the affected releases, see the “SP Patch Level” tab page of this SAP note. For more information about the SP Stack schedule and updates, visit the SAP Support Package Stacks Maintenance Schedule.
Reason and prerequisites
Stored cross-site scripting issue in EP-KM-CRS. It can be used to permanently modify displayed content from a website, allowing the attacker to embed content that is rendered automatically without targeting victims individually. It can also steal another user’s authentication information, such as session data, potentially allowing impersonation and access with the same rights as the target user. If an administrator is impersonated, the security of the application may be fully compromised.
