SAP security note 2011169, “Unauthorized use of application functions in SAP HANA application lifecycle manager”, is a note. Below is the security information published by SAP for this note.
Description
Symptom
An attacker can execute functions in SAP HANA application lifecycle manager without authentication and authorization.
Reason and prerequisites
SAP HANA application lifecycle manager executes certain functions by referencing specific URLs/commands. When an attacker tricks an authenticated user's browser into making a request containing a certain URL and specific parameters, the function is executed with the rights of the authenticated user. The attacker may use a cross-site scripting attack to do this, or they may present a link to the victim.
Solution
The issue is fixed with version 1.0.4 of the SAP HANA application lifecycle manager (DU HANA XL_LM). This version is part of SAP HANA revision 62.
