SAP security note 1668569, “Unauthorized modification in ITS-Services in SWP.”, is a note. Below are the symptom, SAP recommended solution and the affected software components.
Description
Symptom
Supplier Workplace (IS-A-SWP) can be abused by a malicious user, allowing unauthorized modification of displayed application content and potential theft of authentication information from other legitimate users.
Solution
Apply SAP Note 1668569 or import the necessary changes via the relevant support package. Ensure that SAP Note 1621946 and SAP Note 1488500 are also implemented to fully protect against the vulnerabilities.
Reason and prerequisites
Several ITS Services do not sufficiently encode OUTPUT parameters, resulting in XSS vulnerabilities. Affected services include:
- ISAUTO_SIC
- ISAUTO_SICASN1
- ISAUTO_SICASN2
- ISAUTO_SICASN3
- ISAUTO_SICASN4
- ISAUTO_SICBC
- ISAUTO_SICCO
- ISAUTO_SICDDL1
- ISAUTO_SICENG
- ISAUTO_SICIV
- ISAUTO_SICJIT
- ISAUTO_SICPDI
- ISAUTO_SICPH
- ISAUTO_SICPI
- ISAUTO_SICRL
- ISAUTO_SICRLRD
- ISAUTO_SICRPM
- ISAUTO_SICSR
- ISA_SICALERT
- ISA_SICKANBAN
- ISIPI_CE
- ISIPI_CP
- ISIPI_CS
- ISIPI_ESP
- ISIPI_OEPM
- ISIPI_POD
- ISIPI_PUL
- ISIPI_SM
- ISIPI_SUMJIT
- ISIPI_TRACK
- ISA_SIC_JIT
XSS can be exploited to steal user authentication information, impersonate users, and potentially compromise application security, especially if an administrator’s account is targeted.
Affected components
- ECC-DIMP versions: 500, 600, 602, 603, 604, 605, 606
