SAP Security Note
High priority
SAP security note 1661411, "Unauthorized modification of displayed content in FI-TV-PL", is a note released on 08.05.2012. Below are the symptom and SAP recommended solution.
Description
Symptom
FI-TV can be abused by an attacker, allowing them to modify displayed application content without authorization and potentially obtain authentication information from other legitimate users.
Solution
Apply the correction instruction or the corresponding support package.
Reason and prerequisites
Third Party Travel Planning within FI-TV does not sufficiently encode input parameters, resulting in a reflected cross-site scripting (XSS) issue. A reflected XSS attack can be used to non-permanently deface or modify displayed content from a website. It can also be used to steal another user’s authentication information, allowing an attacker to impersonate the user and access information with the same rights. If an administrator is impersonated, the security of the application may be fully compromised.
