Missing authorization check in key figure monitor, SAP security note 1567912

SAP Note 1567912

SAP security note 1567912, "Missing authorization check in key figure monitor". Below are the symptom, SAP recommended solution and the affected software components.

Description

Symptom

An authenticated user can use functions of the generic key figure monitor to which access should be restricted. This may result in an escalation of privileges.

Solution

Implement the corrections as outlined below, including the manual pre-implementation steps provided in this note.

Reason and prerequisites

The generic key figure monitor does not contain authorization checks for verifying an authenticated user’s permissions to access certain functions. This may lead to undesired system behavior.

Affected components

  • SAP_BASIS (710 to 730)
  • SAP_ABA (700 to 702)
