SAP Security Note
High priority
SAP security note 1666901, “Unauthorized modification of BSP in CRM-IC-FCA”, is a program error note released on 08.05.2012. Below are the symptom, SAP recommended solution and the affected software components.
Description
Symptom
CRM-IC-FCA can be abused by a malicious user, allowing them to modify displayed application content without authorization, and to potentially obtain authentication information from other legitimate users.
Solution
Please apply this note or import the changes via the relevant support package.
Reason and prerequisites
Cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerabilities within BSP Pages (e.g., FICACMP_INV, FICACMP_HLOG, FICACMP_COR, CRM_IC_FICA, etc.) in CRM-IC-FCA do not sufficiently encode OUTPUT parameters. This issue can be exploited to steal another user’s authentication information, such as data relating to their current session. A malicious user who gains access to this data may use it to impersonate the user and access all information with the same rights as the target user. If an administrator is impersonated, the security of the application may be fully compromised.
